Libel and Slander

Defamation: Defamation(The UK defamation act 1996) is the law to protect individuals against unjustified and unwarranted attacks.

Libel:  Libel is the type of defamation which relates to published works of unjustified and unwarranted attacks. for example Magazines-"Max Clark is a selfish , greedy and unfit boss for Microsoft"

 Slander:  Slander is the type defamation which relates to communication unjustified and unwarranted attacks . For example Max Clark-"Jack Ashurst is a goat farmer"

Copyright: copyright in the UK (the copyright act , 1911) this allows people/company's who claim the copy right to be able to reserve the idea's for the product for themselves so that others cannot claim their unoriginal  ideas as there own
copyright  is also essential to publishers to ensure the receive profit form the materials they produce

Data protection and privacy

The Data Protection Act of 1911 protects personal information like address , phone number , birthplace and other information like that. some magazines collect subscribers , although the subscribers give them their address and phone number the magazines are not allowed to give this information thanks to the data protection act of 1911

  1. Jay you have managed a basic description however there several grammar and spelling mistakes as well as some inaccurate descriptions. E.g. slander is VERBAL communication or spoken word. Check capital letters especially in titles and spelling of there are their. Copyright description is confusing and unclear. Please check and edit your word. Thanks Ms B.

  2. Where is your codes of practice homework? Look up on the PCC and NUJ websites and complete. Also publish your page about Picture/Art editors.
